Astilbes! Spires and Spires of Color!

First planting of the season? Astilbes! Love the ground cover-like foliage and spikey colorful bloom-spires reaching three feet up to the sky in red, pink, white, and lavender! Will post pictures later in the season....

We reached a high of 80 degrees F. yesterday in Kansas! Ah, spring!

Today we are back to the fifties...March is so un-reliable!

Spring makes me think of lavender and lilies, so...

...yesterday, I went to my crafty room and pulled out my stash of colorful size 10 cotton crochet thread and a size 8 hook, along with Grammy Venus'  1940's and 1950's crochet pattern books, and downloaded some more modern crochet bookmark patterns.

I was on the hunt for patterns for flowers that will make lovely bookmarks for friends...so, the doily I began this week will have to wait, while I make time for growing and crocheting...spring flowers!

Here's a few links from Etsy that you mustn't miss...if you, like me, love bookmark flowers!
